Pol-Mot Warfama is the first Polish manufacturer of a line for industrial production of grain and rape straw briquettes. It is therefore a forerunner of the industrial program for power industry purposes. Briquettes are an ecological fuel used, among others, in power plants which, according to the EU guidelines, must produce energy from renewable sources. Pursuant to the recommendations of the European Commission, by 2020 the emission of carbon dioxide should be reduced by 20%, and the renewable energy production should be increased, at the same time, by 10% (minimum). Briquettes are also used in individual households – they burn perfectly in the oven and are cheaper than coal.

So far there have been no concepts of how to use the straw. This raw material can be used for the production of energy fuel in local boiler rooms and in the power industry. It is estimated that in the next 3-5 years the demand of the power industry for straw briquettes and other biomass products will exceed 2 million tonnes a year.

The European Union allocated large subsidies for implementing specific projects related to the biomass production. POL-MOT Warfama hopes that it will be possible to support processing entities with EU funds.
